  Our partners, Mr. Runzhou (Renzo) Zhang, Mr. Scott Hostetler and Mr. Craig Studer have strong international multi-disciplinary experience with leading American design firms. Their backgrounds and ability to cross traditional disciplinary boundaries and resolve issues from multiple perspectives form the foundation of HZS’s holistic approach to design.

Renzo Zhang as Chairman he divides his time between
  management and marketing functions as well as making significant contributions to architectural and urban design in the firm. He has been director and principle designer for many notable projects in the United States and China. Mr. Zhang received a Bachelor of Architecture from Tsinghua University and a Master of Design with Distinction from Harvard University. In addition to an active practice, Mr. Zhang taught at Tsinghua University for 5 years.

Scott Hostetler as President and CEO is driven by the pursuit of
 

quality. His professional reputation of excellence began with his Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and continues to be reflected within his international built work including upwards of 300 noteworthy designs in more than 100 cities within 20 countries involving design projects of vast scale, diversity and global reach. Scott is guided by sensitivity to the culture and climate of a place and personally conceptualizes and delivers all landscape architectural designs. Scott collaborates with key in-house international design directors and a wealth of excellent design leaders who compliment the product and enhance its unique innovative quality. Together the vast design team speaks more than 20 languages and dialects.

Previous to HZS, Scott collaborated and directed the award winning landscape designs for both Hong Kong Disneyland Hotels, Beijing Star River , Panyu Star River and Chongqing Long Hu Fragrant Villa projects. Currently, Scott is personally designing the landscape for the St. Regis Resort Lhasa, Tibet which Forbes Magazine in March 2007 reports, “will undoubtedly be heralded as one of the most extraordinary resorts not only in Asia , but in the entire world.”

Craig Studer facilitates the firms planning efforts in concert
  with other disciplines. During his twenty-year career, he has lived and worked on four continents enabling him to bring to our clients a wealth of experience from a truly global perspective. He has made significant contributions to projects including Euro Disney. Mr. Studer received a Bachelors degree in Planning and Landscape Architecture at Kansas State University.
